Chevrolet Camaro
The 5.2L supercharged V8 settles into a low, purposeful growl at idle and sharpens into a full-throated roar the moment you press the accelerator. On Sheikh Zayed Road, that sound establishes itself before you’ve reached cruising speed. Inside, carbon fiber trim and leather sport seats hold you firmly in place while the 7-speed DCT responds to paddle inputs in milliseconds — precise enough for city traffic, satisfying enough to make every gear change feel deliberate.
Twister Orange is not a subtle choice. At a red light, it reads immediately — the paint, the Shelby stripes, the aggressive carbon splitter. At 3.5 seconds to 100 km/h, the surge off the line is immediate and unambiguous — whether you’re merging onto the highway or pulling away from a valet stand at a five-star hotel.
The Twister Orange finish holds its own against the blue water backdrop and white facades of Jumeirah Beach Residence. Pull up, frame the shot, and the car carries the frame. The Shelby bodywork, hood stripes and carbon splitter translate directly to Reels and short-form video — no props, no editing workarounds needed.
City Walk’s open-air architecture and the towers of Downtown create a natural frame for low, wide American muscle. The GT500 sits close to the ground, visually dominant against the streetscape — right at home in the kind of setting where the details get noticed.
Valet attendants remember this car. If your evening requires presence — a dinner at Coya, an event at Soho Garden, or a meeting at DIFC — the GT500 makes a concrete statement before you’ve said a word.
Wide, well-lit, and quiet late in the evening. This stretch gives you room to let the DCT shift cleanly through the gears while the V8 breathes properly. One of the few roads in Dubai where the engine note opens up the way it was engineered to — unhurried, deliberate, and entirely legal.
«
Practical note: The GT500’s trunk holds approximately two soft-sided bags or cabin-size luggage. If you’re arriving from the airport with full-size checked bags, plan ahead — the rear seats fold 50/50, which helps, but this is a performance coupe, not a touring car.
Both run supercharged V8s in a similar power bracket, but the GT500’s 7-speed DCT delivers faster, more consistent shifts than the Camaro’s manual-only configuration in this spec. In city traffic, that’s a meaningful advantage. The Shelby also carries a heritage and aesthetic identity that remains immediately legible — the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was discontinued after 2024, making the GT500 the more relevant choice in 2025.
The Hellcat offers comparable power and its own iconic character, but it’s larger and heavier. The GT500 is narrower and lower, which makes it more agile through Dubai’s multi-lane intersections and easier to place in parking structures. The Shelby’s carbon fiber handling package and MagneRide suspension deliver noticeably sharper feedback at legal city speeds. If precision matters as much as presence, the GT500 has the edge. That said, if a more relaxed cruiser fits your plans better, the Dodge Challenger remains a strong alternative.
«
Note on clearance: The GT500 sits low — take steep hotel parking ramps and aggressive speed humps slowly. Most Dubai mall and hotel entry ramps are manageable, but a sharp entry angle can catch the front splitter.

Important: Dubai applies a 20 km/h buffer above posted speed limits before a fine is issued. Abu Dhabi does not — limits there are enforced at the posted speed. If you’re driving outside Dubai, factor that in. Any traffic fines that arise during the rental are invoiced to you after the period ends, based on actual violations. And one more thing: any damage — even a parking-lot scratch when you weren’t in the car — requires a police report before the insurance process can begin.
