Basic insurance is included in every Brook Drive supercar rate: third-party liability plus cover for the rented car itself. What you may still owe after an incident is set out in the rental agreement, and any damage, even a scratch, needs a police report.
What insurance included in the daily rate actually covers
When a car page says the daily rate «includes insurance,» two things are already paid for: the liability the driver owes to anyone else on the road, and the cost of repairing the rented car if it gets damaged. Neither is an add-on you agree to at the counter. Both are part of the number you saw when you booked.
What is not automatically zero is your own share if the car is damaged. That share is called the excess. Whether it applies, and what else the cover leaves out, depends on what the police report records and on your rental agreement, so read the terms before you sign.
Whatever the cause, any damage has to be reported to the police first. That includes a scratch nobody saw happen, found on a car that was parked and empty.
VerdictIncluded insurance means you are not asked to buy basic cover separately. It does not mean every repair is free for you: what you may owe is written in your rental agreement.

The three layers of cover, and why they get confused
Renters mix up «insurance,» «excess» and «extended cover» constantly, because at the counter they feel like one decision. It is easier to see them as three layers: two standard policy forms, plus the excess.
Compulsory third-party liability
UAE traffic law, Federal Decree-Law No. 14 of 2024 on Traffic Regulation, requires insurance on every registered vehicle. The standard liability form, the Unified Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy Against Third Party Liability, pays what the driver owes to someone else: another car, a wall, or a person hurt in the accident. It is not an extra from Brook Drive, and it applies from the moment you take the keys. The government’s own summary is on the UAE government’s road safety page.
Cover on the rented car itself
The second layer pays for damage to the car you are driving rather than to anyone else’s property. In the UAE it follows the second standard form, the Unified Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy Against Loss and Damage (Insurance Authority Board Decision No. 25 of 2016). Both forms are government-defined documents, not something Brook Drive wrote itself. Basic cover is already in the daily rate of every car.
The excess, the renter’s share
The third layer is the excess, also called a deductible. It is the closest local equivalent of the collision damage waiver (CDW) you may know from renting in Europe or the United States. The UAE standard policy is built around deductibles, and the rental agreement sets how they apply to your rental: which cases they cover, who bears them, and what the cover excludes. Those terms are in the rental terms and conditions. We do not publish a figure here, because it differs between models and has to be read from your own contract, not assumed from an article.

| Layer | What it pays for | Who it protects | When it applies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Third-party liability | Injury or damage to someone else, or their property | Third parties involved in the accident | Always, by law, on every trip |
| Cover on the rented car | Repair of the Brook Drive car itself | The renter, indirectly, and Brook Drive | Included in the daily rate, nothing to add at the counter |
| Excess | The renter’s share of the repair cost | Both sides: it sets how repair costs are shared | As set out in the rental agreement |
Helpful tipAsk for the excess terms for the specific car before you sign, not after. They are written per model, so a Porsche 911 and a Ferrari will not match.

No deposit, and where extended insurance fits
Brook Drive’s offer is no deposit. That is a billing choice, not a change to liability: anything you owe under the rental agreement is billed to you after the rental ends. The terms for the specific car are confirmed when you book.
Beyond the included cover, an extended insurance option is available. What it adds for a specific car and what it costs are confirmed by the booking managers when you reserve, so we do not publish a price here. If lowering your own exposure matters to you, ask about it when you book, not after you have picked up the keys.
Helpful tipIf the terms on a particular model feel heavy for the trip you have planned, ask about extended insurance at booking. The cost is confirmed by a manager, and it is easier to decide before pickup than at the roadside.

Why a police report is required for any damage
Reporting an accident to the authorities is not a local custom on top of the insurance. The standard UAE motor policy itself requires the insured to notify the official authorities immediately for any accident that could lead to a claim, then to notify the insurer promptly. In practice that means a police report.
The same goes for small damage. A scratch found on a parked, empty car is still an incident, because the report is the document that establishes what happened and who is responsible. Under the rental terms, if there is no police report for damage to the car, the renter is held accountable for all damage and repair costs.
A scratch, even one found later
For a live accident, official UAE guidance is specific: call 999 from anywhere in the country, give your location and follow instructions. If it is minor and nobody is hurt, move the car to the shoulder and wait for the police at a safe distance. If anyone is injured, leave every vehicle where it stopped and wait for an ambulance.
Minor accidents can also be reported online. The government lists the MoI UAE, Saeed, Abu Dhabi Police and Dubai Police apps, and Rafid in Sharjah; the Dubai Police website covers services in Dubai. The clip below, published by Dubai Police, walks through the in-app flow for a straightforward accident.
The same guidance is on the official page on handling road accidents. Whatever channel you use, the report is what the rest of the process is built on.
What the cover leaves out and what is billed separately
Some situations fall outside the cover, and some costs were never insurance matters to begin with. It helps to keep the two apart. The full list of exclusions is in your rental agreement; these are the ones that come up most often:
- The car left the paved public road: the insurance is for ordinary driving on paved roads only.
- The car was driven by someone who is not authorised under the rental agreement.
- The driver was under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that legally bars driving.
- The car was taken outside the UAE (including Oman): driving under the agreement stays within the country.
Separately, these costs are not insurance matters, whether or not anything was damaged:
- Fines are forwarded to the renter and paid after the rental.
- Salik, Dubai’s toll system, and Darb, Abu Dhabi’s equivalent, are billed to the renter separately after the rental ends.
- Smoking in the car is not allowed, and a cleaning fee under the rental terms applies if the car comes back in poor condition.
- Fuel is full-to-full: the car leaves with a full tank and comes back full.
- Every car has its own daily mileage limit (200–250 km, shown on the car page); extra kilometres are charged separately.
- Delivery within Dubai costs AED 185 between 09:00 and 21:00 or AED 235 overnight, plus 5% VAT, and from AED 250 to Dubai airport. It is free on bookings from AED 10,000.
What to do for a scratch, a collision or a breakdown
The sequence depends on what happened, but the police-report rule is the same for the first two.
A scratch on a parked car
- Do not attempt a private fix or ask a workshop to look at it first.
- File a police report in the app of the emirate you are in, or call if it looks more serious than a mark.
- Contact Brook Drive with the report and the details of what you found.
Helpful tipPhotograph the car from every side at handover, including the wheels and the lower bumpers. If a mark is already there, it is documented before you drive away.

A collision
- Make sure everyone is safe. If anyone is hurt, or the other driver will not wait, call 999 and leave the vehicles where they are.
- Stay at the scene until the police have finished the registration, as our FAQ also asks.
- Call Brook Drive once the report exists, and tell us at once if the car cannot be driven.
What the report records is what the rental agreement then works from, which is why it matters even when the damage looks small.
A mechanical breakdown
- Call Brook Drive.
- We collect the car from wherever it stopped.
- We provide a replacement so the rest of your trip is not lost.

Who can rent a supercar and which documents you need
Age and licence-experience minimums are not one grid for the whole fleet. They are set per car, and the faster the car, the higher they tend to be.
Across the Brook Drive fleet the minimum age is 21, 23 or 25, depending on the model. At the top of the price list almost every car asks for a driver of 25 or older, and many also ask for five years of licence experience rather than three. The exact figures are on each car’s own page.
Documents differ by who you are, not by which car you pick. Tourists need a passport and a valid home-country licence; depending on the country that issued your licence, an International Driving Permit may also be required. Our team confirms what applies to your licence before you book. Residents need a UAE driving licence and their Emirates ID.

Helpful tipDo not assume a company-wide age rule. Check the minimum age and experience on the specific car’s page, since two cars from the same brand can carry different requirements.

Representative supercars, rates and age requirements
The table shows a spread of the fleet, from a Ferrari 12 Cilindri to a Nissan 400Z. The two rate columns show how the daily price drops on a longer rental. Prices on the site apply to rentals starting within the next 30 days; seasonal rates may apply to later dates, and current offers are listed under Special Offer.
| Model | Per day, 1–2 days | Per day, 30+ days | Minimum age | Minimum experience |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ferrari 12 Cilindri | AED 10 000 | AED 8 300 | 25 | 5 years |
| McLaren 750S Spider | AED 4 990 | AED 3 090 | 25 | 5 years |
| Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder | AED 2 990 | AED 2 090 | 25 | 3 years |
| Porsche 911 Turbo S | AED 2 190 | AED 1 490 | 25 | 3–5 years |
| Audi R8 Coupe Performance | AED 2 050 | AED 1 550 | 25 | 3 years |
| BMW M5 | AED 1 890 | AED 1 290 | 23 | 3 years |
| Nissan 400Z Grey | AED 1 650 | AED 790 | 23 | 3 years |
The full sport cars range covers a wider price spread than this table, and the insurance mechanics described above apply across all of it.

Myths that cost tourists money
Myth: «No deposit means no liability»
These are two different things. No deposit changes how a cost is billed, after the rental instead of from a hold. It does not change what the rental agreement says you owe if the car is damaged.
Myth: «A small scratch can be settled privately»
The size of the mark does not change the rule. Any damage, however minor, needs a police report. A private arrangement at the roadside leaves the incident undocumented, and under the rental terms damage without a report is charged to the renter in full.
Frequently asked questions
Is insurance already included when I rent a supercar in Dubai from Brook Drive?
Yes. Basic insurance is included in the daily rate, covering compulsory third-party liability and damage to the rented car itself. It is not sold as a separate add-on at pickup.
How much is the excess on a rented supercar in Dubai?
It depends on the model and is set out in your rental agreement. There is no single published figure, since it varies from car to car. Ask for the exact terms before you sign.
What does the basic insurance not cover?
Off-road driving and other restricted activities are not covered, and the rental agreement lists the exclusions and what the renter pays. Read the terms for your car before you sign.
Do I need to pay a security deposit to rent a supercar?
Brook Drive’s offer is no deposit. That changes how costs are billed, after the rental rather than from a hold, but it does not remove what the rental agreement says you owe for damage. The terms for your specific car are confirmed at booking.
Why do I need a police report for a small scratch on a rental car?
Any damage, including a scratch found on a parked, empty car, needs a police report. Under the rental terms, without one the renter is held accountable for all damage and repair costs, whatever the size of the mark.
What age and licence experience do I need to rent a supercar in Dubai?
It depends on the specific car: from 21 to 25 years old, with 3 to 5 years of licence experience on faster models. Check the exact requirement on the car’s own page before booking.
Will my travel insurance or credit card cover a rented supercar in Dubai?
Not automatically. Travel policies and card-issued rental protection carry their own terms and exclusions, which differ by provider and by vehicle category. Check your own policy wording or card benefit terms rather than assume a rented supercar is covered.
